WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY

Women’s Bible Study will start on Thursday September 4We meet from 9-11 a.m. each Thursday. This fall we will study Beth Moore’s “Children of the Day” an in-depth study of 1 and 2 Thessalonians. We are a group of women that love to laugh and cry together as we grow closer to one another while deepening our relationship with the Lord. All women are invited. Missions Fundraiser…Mark your Calendars!

Monte De La Trinidad invites you to join us for a delicious lunch celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept. 15 – Oct. 15) on: Sunday, September 14 following the 10:30 a.m. service in the Fellowship Hall.  We will have authentic, homemade dishes–Mexican, Guatemalan, and yes,  even Tex-Mex food!  There is no specific cost for the meal, but donations are welcome.

All donations will benefit mission-based initiatives that we support, including Pastor Ignacio (Nacho) in Oaxaca, Mexico who ministers in Chiapas despite serious persecution he faces. We will also support the upcoming proposed mission trip to Liberia under the leadership of William Tokpah, and the Angel Tree Project.  Please join us!


Wednesday Night Classes Resume Sept 3

Fall Classes: A study for all young adults on the gospel of Mark (led by Rev. Steve & Judy Drury); Hispanic Bible Study; a study on the book “Wounds That Heal: Carrying Your Hurts to the Cross” by Stephen Seamands (led by Patricia Taylor); a class on Methodism using the book “John Wesley: Holiness of Heart & Life” by Charles Yrigoven (led by Prudence Walz); a study of prayer using the book “Approaching God” by Steve Brown (to be led by Cyndi Downing, Molly Burlew, and Mike Maharrey); and at 7:30 the Emerge: College & Young Adult group will study 1st & 2nd Corinthians (led by Sarah Bailie). Note: It is recommended that you purchase the book for the class you will attend soon from Amazon.com, CBD.com; Cokesbury.com, or another reputable seller soon so you can come to class ready to go on September 3.

Wednesday Schedule: Meal at 6:00 p.m., classes start at 6:30 p.m. Classes end at 7:30 p.m. so those who want to may attend Choir practices (Chancel Choir & Bell Choir). Emerge: College & Young Adults also meet at 7:30 p.m. Childcare is provided.


WHAT IS FINANCIAL PEACE UNIVERSITY?

plan! It teaches God’s ways of handling money. Through video teaching, class
discussions and interactive small group activities, FPU presents biblical,
practical steps to get from where you are to where you’ve dreamed you could
be. This plan will show you how to get rid of debt, manage your money, spend
and save wisely, and much more!”

The Financial Peace study has been proposed as a course of study on Sunday
afternoons (2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.) for 9 weeks in the fall of 2014. The cost
per participant is approximately $93. Please call the church office at

Family Retreat

Once again it is time for the Trinity Hill UMC Family Retreat!!! When: Friday, September 5 – Sunday, September 7. Where: Aldersgate Camp, Ravenna, KY. Who: Everyone is WELCOME! Families, singles, younger or older adults.
Housing: Camping, RV Park, or cottages. Note: All individuals under 18 years
old must be accompanied by an adult. Food, Fun & Fellowship: Ice cream
social, hiking, horse riding, playing in the creek (for kids), crafts,
hayride, corn hole, worship, and a camp fire. This is a great way to get to
know people in our church family. Cost: Check the information sheet in the
