Preacher’s Comments

September 2010

From the Preacher’s Desk. . .

Greetings in the Name of Jesus Christ!

School has started and so have many of our Fall ministries!  You will see several opportunities in this newsletter to grow in your faith.  Judy and I will once again be leading or Embrace group (younger couples) on Wednesday night and will also be helping lead our college/young adult group (Emerge)until we find new leadership for it.  There is a group for every person to be involved.  I hope you will take advantage of one of these spiritual offerings to further your spiritual growth!

I am starting a new series on the Book of Revelation and hope you will attend to hear them.  We are beginning to see our attendance increase as summer comes to an end.  God is doing some great things!  Instead of sitting back and waiting for God to bring something our way, we should discern where God is moving and climb on board.  I look forward to seeing you on Sundays!

We had a great 101 class yesterday (Sunday August 22).  As a result, we will be seeing several people baptized and join our church in the near future.  Several more will be transferring their membership.  This class certainly highlighted our ethnic diversity!  There were people from all walks of life and several age groups.  There is a lady from Lithuania, one from Kenya, a lady whose husband is from Zimbabwe, persons from West Virginia, Ohio, Florida, Georgia, and several places in Kentucky.  Yes, and also some country boys like me! J  You will see a picture in this newsletter of our baptizing Malcolm Miller in the creek at our farm as well!  God has blessed us with a wide diversity of people at Trinity Hill.  I believe it is a strong indication of His favor!

We are now looking for a youth minister as well as a college minister.  Taylor and Sara Jo have accepted a position at Grace Church in the Florida Conference.  He will be the third “Trinity Hiller”on staff there.  The Senior Pastor is Jorge Acevedo, a former youth pastor here and this is where Wes Olds serves as well.  This is a wonderful opportunity for the Foley’s as they continued their journey in serving God.  We will be very sad to see them go, but they go with our blessings as we know they are following as God leads!  Pray that God will bring us exactly who we need in our ministry positions.

Blessings:

Brother Steve
